Summer 2014

JandiJandi Kim
Jandi joined SOCAAR in summer 2014 after completing her third year of Chemical Engineering at University of Toronto. She worked on assessing the oxidative potential of ambient particulate matter. She continued working on the project for her fourth year thesis with Professor Evans. Her research was to evaluate the spatial variability in oxidative potential in Canada and to address the toxicity associated with PM2.5 in respiratory system. Her work involved extracting filter samples and analyzing antioxidant depletion in synthetic respiratory track lining fluid exposed to oxidant pollutant. Her current work focuses on verifying a systemic error to develop further methodology.
