Sindy obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science degree majoring in Chemical Engineering at the University of British Columbia being on the Dean’s Honour List. During her undergrad, Sindy gained experience in water treatment through internship at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is now in her first year of Master of Engineering at the University of Toronto with emphasis in Advanced Water Technologies and Sustainable Energy. Having a desire for exploring sustainable solutions for real-world challenges, she joined the Advances Membranes Lab in September 2022 and is working on the development of polymer membranes for selective extraction of Medium Chain Fatty Acids.
In her free time, Sindy enjoys exploring food, reading books, skating, and traveling.
