MASc Student, Chemical Engineering, University of Toronto (2024-Current)
Bachelor of Science, Integrated Science, The University of British Columbia, Canada (2018-2023)

Keanna received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia in Integrated Science, studying chemistry, biochemistry and environmental science. During her undergraduate degree, she worked in the Withers Lab studying protein engineering using mutant glycosidases, and the Cranston Lab studying the conversion of by-products from oat production to new products, notably cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) stabilized oat-oil emulsions and novel oat-hull sourced cellulose nanocrystals. Keanna’s desire to continue developing products that improve our society’s sustainability and environmental consciousness propelled her to join Dr. Werber’s lab, where she currently working on membranes to design lithium-ion selective membranes that will improve our ability to recycle lithium.
