MASc Student, Chemical Engineering, University of Toronto (2024-Current)
Bachelor of Science, Chemistry (Computational Specialization), University of Waterloo, Canada (2019-2024)

Renzo graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Chemistry degree in 2024. During his undergraduate career, Renzo completed research in computational chemistry where he worked on quantum molecular dynamics simulations of water clusters. He was also able to work in industry at a biotechnology startup, creating and optimizing extraction and purification experiments of bioplastics from fermented bacterial biomass. More recently, Renzo completed an undergradaute research thesis in polymer chemistry, working on polymer flexibility characterization using fluorescence. Here at the Advanced Membranes Lab, Renzo is eager to apply his knowledge of pure chemistry in a more applied context to create solutions that address our current challenges in sustainability.

In his free time, Renzo enjoys spending time with friends and family, and exploring cafes in Toronto to find the best iced americano.
