The University of Toronto along with the Hospital for Sick Children and the University Health Network (UHN) are partners in the newly formed Ted Rogers Center for Heart Research. It’s mandate is to bring together research, education and innovation in personalized genomic medicine, stem cell research, bioengineering, and cardiovascular treatment and management, with the goal to improve heart health across a person’s entire lifespan.

On Aug.14,2014, Minister of State for Science and technology, Ed Holder, accompanied by Minister Peter Van Loan, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, toured the Radisic Lab prior to the announcement of the recipients of the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships and the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships. Miles accepted his award and spoke on behalf of all the recipients.

June 17th, 2014 by laschingerWe raised $1785.00! Most of our team of 6 rode 75 km in support of the ride this year. We were treated well as the organization is looking to reach out towards researchers. We were part of a special group of Riding for Research in which Dr. Craig Simmon’s lab also participated. After the ride Aric and Miles were interviewed by the Ride for Heart internal news team which was broadcast inside the VIP and corporate area.
