Dimpho RadebeDimpho Radebe
Dimpho has just completed her final year of Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. Her involvement in student clubs as well as leadership courses and workshops sparked her interest in understanding the benefits of extracurricular involvement for engineering students. Her fourth year thesis project with Professor Evans focused on understanding the impact that leadership learning through extracurricular involvement has on workforce readiness. The study was completed by distributing a survey to students in their final year of engineering at the University of Toronto and analysing the responses. Two key findings from the study were the importance of the quality of the involvement experience as this impacts the levels of leadership learning obtained, and the importance of linking leadership learning to workforce readiness in an engineering career.
